Team

Andrew Moss, Chief Executive Officer

Andrew is responsible for Spark’s overall vision and strategic direction

Spark is the 4th enterprise Andrew has been principally involved with from inception, including BuyWithMe, Customink and Flagg Street Capital. Most recently, Andrew managed Wingate Advisors, a strategic consulting firm providing multi-faceted guidance to investors and owners/entrepreneurs about digital and transactional business models. Andrew was Founder/Director of BuyWithMe.com, a leading social e-commerce company that competed with Groupon and Living Social, from January 2009 until it was sold to Gilt Groupe in November 2011. Andrew conceived and launched the business model, raising $25M+ venture capital from Matrix Partners and Bain Ventures and scaling the concept into a national company generating over $30M/year annual sales. Andrew also has a legal background with a law degree from NYU School of Law, JD 2001 and worked as a corporate attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Highfields Capital.

Janssen Choong, Chief Technical Officer

Janssen leads the technology strategy, architecture and relationships of the Spark platform.

Prior to Spark, Janssen was a partner at Horizon Connect, a strategic technology advisory firm. A hands on technology veteran, he has been involved in building solutions at scale in the travel, automotive, telecommunications & finance sectors, including Hotwire.com. In addition, he founded CouponHq, eMason (a rapid web development firm) & a Malaysian Kereta.com, an automotive classifieds venture. Janssen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSE in Computer Science & Engineering and a BA in Psychology.

Mathew Reason, VP of Partner Development

Matt cultivates and manages Spark’s network of partners and content providers.

Prior to Spark, Matt led the Boston office at Gilt City, a subsidiary of the Gilt Groupe. The Gilt Groupe had acquired Matt's last company, BuyWithMe, where he began as the first business development professional, and part of the founding team. Matt successfully launched and scaled BuyWithMe’s first market into one which was highly profitable, generating over 2M+ in yearly sales. Matt earned a BBA with highest honors from Emory’s Goizueta Business School.

Roger Zimmermann, Director of Engineering

Roger is responsible for the primary implementation and delivery of the Spark platform

Roger has over ten years of experience in software development of consumer and enterprise software with a focus on security and privacy. Roger started his career at IBM Research Zurich Laboratory focusing on privacy, cryptography, identity and has received an industry award for his contributions to a security hardware specification incorporated in millions of PCs. He then joined a startup in Vancouver, Canada to lead the development of software that gives users a seamless experience around identity having over hundred thousands of daily users. Wanting to give back more to humanity he decided to provide his skill sets to a philanthropic startup headquartered in Canada and operated from Malaysia. Here he led a team to convert residential programs into online learning experiences for worldwide market, simplifying its facilitation and increasing sales and reach. Roger holds a Master of Science from ETH Zurich.

Doug Swartz, Partner Development Manager

Doug is responsible for the development of our network of partners and content providers

Prior to joining Spark, Doug was a sales executive selling complex SaaS based software solutions to fortune 500 companies. Doug also co-founded a media outlet in Boston providing the top health and fitness businesses with a platform to reach fitness minded consumers. His broad experience gives him a unique insight into helping his clients execute their business plans and maximize their potential. Doug graduated with an Economics Degree from The Ohio State University. He and his wife live in Boston, Massachusetts.
